Letter from Bro. Alex

Dear Church Family,

I am excited to serve you in a new role as your interim pastor. The past year has been very challenging for us all. The COVID-19 pandemic began to be very prevalent in March of 2020 almost a year ago to the day. Unfortunately, we all had to change how we operated, businesses closed and our church had to do things differently to protect our faithful members and attendees. As many of you are aware in November 2020, we started offering an 8 a.m. worship service to meet the spiritual needs of our members and faithful attendees.

With the decline in COVID-19 diagnoses in our county and state, married with the availability of vaccinations to our vulnerable populations, the Deacons and I have decided to no longer have an 8 a.m. worship service. The need to offer this additional worship service has diminished. We are excited to have everyone join together for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Worship at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday.

I also would like to take this time to share part of the vision for the church moving forward during this interim time. This vision is not complicated in the slightest and is all-inclusive for everyone to be a part. The vision is derived from the scripture in Acts 2: 42, which reads, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

So what does this mean for us church?

  • Teaching:
    • We will continue to offer bible studies on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings for all ages. We will also have our 10:30 a.m. worship service where we have a time to learn through the preaching time.
    • Times of learning are critically important to our spiritual growth and we must be devoted to learning the teachings of Christ.
  • Fellowship:
    • We all enjoy being together in fellowship of various kinds. It is so important for all of us to grow together. Fellowship provides us just that, whether it is coming together to watch a movie, enjoy a meal, play a game, or sit back and listen to music. The possibilities are endless of how we can all join together in fellowship and do life together.
  • Prayer:
    • We will have an additional opportunity to join together in prayer for our church, ministries, worship time, leadership, community, state, nation, etc.
    • Starting Sunday March 21, 2021, we will begin having a Church Prayer Service at   8:15 a.m. every Sunday morning.

The biggest thing you will see in this letter is the addition of the 8:15 a.m. Church Prayer Service every Sunday. This is open for everyone to join together and pray. It will provide us the opportunity to pray for our church and everything it does to serve the community and the people. It is time we give the Lord His power and for us to step back and watch Him work. A praying church will withstand and I ask you to stand with me in prayer for our beautiful church.

“It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer, ………
